CHAPTER 2: THE VIDEO THAT DESTROYED THE GROOM
Daniel arrived beside Olivia almost immediately.
His face looked calm.
Too calm.
For a moment, he even looked concerned.
Then he shoved Sophie to the floor.
Gasps swept through the ballroom.
"Enough!" he shouted.
He pointed directly at her.
"How dare you lie to my wife?"
The crowd immediately began taking his side.
After all, who would they believe?
A groom at his wedding.
Or a waitress.
People shook their heads.
Some called Sophie jealous.
Others assumed she wanted attention.
The explanation seemed obvious.
Until Sophie reached into her pocket.
"Olivia..."
Her voice cracked.
"Please look at this."
Daniel froze.
Only for a second.
But Olivia noticed.
So did Sophie.
Slowly, Sophie unlocked her phone.
A video began playing.
The room grew quiet.
The footage came from a kitchen security camera earlier that morning.
The angle was grainy.
The quality wasn't perfect.
But it was clear enough.
Daniel appeared on the screen.
Guests immediately leaned closer.
The groom checked over his shoulder.
Made sure nobody was watching.
Then reached into his pocket.
And pulled out a small bottle.
A cold feeling spread through the ballroom.
Nobody spoke.
Nobody moved.
Everyone watched.
Daniel unscrewed the cap.
And poured a strange liquid directly into the wedding cake mixture.
The silence became unbearable.
Olivia felt her stomach drop.
"No..."
Daniel immediately stepped forward.
"It's fake."
Nobody answered.
"It's edited."
Still nobody answered.
Because they had all seen it.
With their own eyes.
The perfect groom.
The man Olivia had trusted completely.
The man she had married less than twenty minutes earlier.
Suddenly looked like a stranger.
Guests slowly backed away from him.
His parents looked horrified.
The wedding planner covered her mouth.
Even the photographer lowered his camera.
