Chapter 10 - A New Dawn at Whitmore House

Before Judge Sterling could signal the marshals to advance, the heavy oak front doors swung open once more. A sleek black town car pulled up to the steps, and out stepped a distinguished woman in a tailored trench coat with silver-streaked hair and an aura of untouchable authority.

Margaret Hale.

The legendary security director and former head of the private tactical agency stopped in the doorway, her sharp eyes scanning the foyer before landing directly on Naomi Reyes.

Judge Sterling blinked in confusion. "Who the hell are you?"

Margaret didn't even look at the judge. She kept her eyes fixed on Naomi, a faint, respectful smile touching the corners of her lips. "It's been a long time, Naomi. I told you that when you walked away from the agency, your operational record remained classified under national security protocols. No federal judge has the clearance to arrest operatives acting under my directive."

Margaret turned her gaze toward Judge Sterling, her eyes flashing with a cold, lethal brilliance. "If you attempt to harass Miss Reyes or anyone on this estate ever again, Judge Sterling, I will personally ensure that every corrupt financial transaction and judicial bribe you’ve made over the past decade is laid across the Attorney General's desk before dinner."

The color drained entirely from Judge Sterling’s face. He looked at Margaret, looked at Naomi, and realized he had stepped into a trap far bigger than he could ever comprehend.

"Get out," Ethan commanded, his voice ringing with absolute, unyielding power as he stepped forward alongside Naomi. "And don't ever set foot on Whitmore property again."

Swallowing hard, Judge Sterling gestured frantically to the marshals. "We're leaving. Now."

Within minutes, the foyer was empty once more. The heavy oak doors closed, sealing out the noise of the outside world.

Ethan turned to Naomi, his expression softening into a deep, tender warmth. He reached out, gently taking her hand. The calluses from years of combat training brushed against his skin, reminding him of her strength, her resilience, and her profound courage.

"You don't have to hide anymore, Naomi," Ethan whispered.

Naomi looked down at their joined hands, then up into his hazel eyes. For the first time in eight years, the ghosts of Philadelphia didn't feel heavy. The armor she had worn for so long finally melted away, replaced by the quiet, radiant certainty of a new beginning right here at Whitmore House.
