Chapter 107 - Bloodline Duel
The concrete vault echoed with the thunderous impact of flesh against steel. Naomi was forced onto the defensive, refusing to use lethal force against a woman who had, despite her flaws, shown a flicker of humanity in the mansion’s final hours.
Vanessa’s attacks were relentless, mathematically perfect, and completely devoid of fatigue. She fought not like an angry daughter, but like a supercomputer executing an assassination routine. She swept low, caught Naomi’s balance, and drove a palm strike directly into Naomi’s chest, sending the seasoned operative skidding across the floor.
"You cannot reprogram her, Naomi!" Arthur shouted from behind the armored glass of the server control booth. "The Alpha code is woven into her very DNA! She is the crown jewel of the Sterling bloodline!"
Naomi rolled sideways as Vanessa brought her heel down with enough force to shatter the concrete flooring. Naomi sprang back to her feet, wiping a streak of crimson from the corner of her lip. Her neural implants throbbed, sending sharp spikes of pain through her temples as the broadcast frequency continued to echo through the underground bunker.
"I don't need to reprogram her," Naomi muttered through clenched teeth. "I just need to break the link."
As Vanessa lunged again, Naomi did not retreat. She stepped deliberately into the strike, accepting a punishing blow to her left shoulder in order to close the distance. With her right hand, she trapped Vanessa’s wrist, twisting her arm behind her back in a classic subdual hold, while her left hand reached for the base of Vanessa’s skull.
Her fingers searched through Vanessa’s hair, feeling the skin along the cervical vertebrae.
There was no surgical scar. There was no mechanical node.
Naomi’s eyes widened in sudden realization. "There's no implant..."
"Of course there isn't!" Arthur laughed through the intercom. "Alpha isn't mechanical, you fool! She is purely biological! A hypnotic carrier keyed to a specific vocal cadence and biometric frequency!"

Vanessa twisted out of the hold with impossible flexibility, delivering a vicious elbow strike that caught Naomi across the temple, sending her crashing into the primary console.
