Chapter 66 - Ghost in the Iron Corridors

In the observation lounge, Ethan’s watch vibrated against his wrist.

He suppressed the shock that threatened to show on his face, keeping his eyes locked on the surveillance feeds while Julian’s projection continued to recite the history of his grand design.

Ethan tapped the bezel twice—their code for *Active / Hostage in danger.*

"I hear you," Naomi's whisper cut through the micro-receiver in his ear. "I am on Deck Three, moving through the environmental conduits. Power grid sabotage in sixty seconds. When the lights fail, break Clara out of the laboratory."

"Julian is listening to everything," Ethan whispered beneath his breath, pretending to cough into his fist. "He claims he sent a purge command to your head."

There was a half-second pause on the line.

"He tried," Naomi said, her tone utterly devoid of fear. "He forgot who trained me before he bought my contract."

Far below them, in the central breaker room, Naomi planted an explosive charge directly onto the primary bus bar. She didn't use high-grade C4; she used a specialized thermite strip stripped from an emergency hull repair kit.

She sparked the igniter.

A blinding flash of magnesium-white fire ate through the dreadnought’s primary conduits. The hum of the massive vessel died in an instant. The hum of the turbines ceased.

The heavy red emergency klaxons began to wail as complete, suffocating darkness swept through every corridor of the ship.
